Women's Lacrosse Displays Offensive Outburst Against William & Mary; Defeating the Tribe 19-9

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After training the William & Mary by two goals to begin the game, the University of Delaware women's lacrosse team went on an offensive outburst, scoring five unanswered goals. They would not look back, outscoring the Tribe from that point on 14-7, giving the Hens their first conference win in convincing offensive fashion, 19-9. The win improves the Hens to 8-3, and 1-2 in the CAA. The Tribe dropped to 4-8 on the season, and 0-3 in the CAA.

- Danielle Livornese scored five goals on 10 shots and recorded an assist.
- Jaclyn Marszal finished with nine points, six of them coming off assists.

- The Hens buckled down on defense in the second quarter; giving up one goal while scoring three to lead 6-3 at halftime.
- The Hens stayed aggressive during the third period, outscoring the Tribe 4-2 to lead 10-5 going into the final fifteen minutes.
- After two goals in the first two and a half minutes of the fourth quarter by the Tribe to cut the Hens advantage to 10-7, the Hens outscored the tribe the rest of the way 9-2, overwhelmingly defeating the Tribe on the road, 19-9.
GAME NOTES
- Madison Hranicka's six caused turnovers officially passes Erin Wein for most caused turnovers in Blue Hen's history.
- With her three ground balls, Sam Schelling over her career has 50 ground balls and 100 caused turnovers.
