NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's basketball program signed Izaiah Pasha to a National Letter of Intent (NLI), head coach Martin Ingelsby announced Friday. Pasha joins the Blue Hens after spending the 2023-24 year at St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Connecticut.
"We are very excited to welcome Izaiah to the Blue Hen basketball family," Ingelsby said. "He is a talented, versatile guard with a high basketball IQ, and elite shot making ability. He can impact the game on both ends of the floor and once he gets acclimated to the college game, the sky is the limit for who he can be as a player."
Pasha, a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania native graduated from Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield, Pennsylvania in 2023 prior to taking a prep year at St. Thomas More. The 6-5 guard is a former three-star recruit by 247 Sports and had previously signed with Iona before deciding on reclassifying.
His final season at O'Hara, Pasha started 26 of 27 games and averaged a team-high 17.7 points per game. He added 7.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.4 blocks per contest while shooting at a 51.7 percent clip. His scoring average was good enough for fifth best in the Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL), with his rebounding average ranking seventh and assists per game eighth overall. His senior campaign in the PCL earned him All-Philadelphia Catholic League First Team and 2023 Pennsylvania Sportswriters Boys' Basketball All-State 4A First Team honors.
As a junior, Pasha garnered his first all-state selection as a Pennsylvania Sportswriters Boys' Basketball All-State 4A Second Team honoree. He was also named Delaware County Player of the Year by the Delaware County Daily Times. Pasha led Cardinal O'Hara in scoring with 16.9 points per game while adding 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
He attended Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg as a freshman and sophomore and played AAU for the Philly Pride.
Originally out of high school, Pasha received offers from Xavier, Temple, VCU, George Washington, Saint Joseph's, La Salle, Iona, and Towson, among others.
