PHILADELPHIA - Despite a late comeback, the University of Delaware baseball team dropped a non conference game against St. Joe's by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday.

With the loss, the Blue Hens overall record dropped 20-19.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Brett Lesher (3-for-4, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2B) and Joey Loynd (3-for-3, HR, 3 RBI, 2 BB) led the way offensively with three hits each. Aaron Graeber (2-for-4, 2B) was the other lone Blue Hen with multiple hits
Starting on the mound was Elias Conway. The freshman went three innings, gave up four earned runs off five hits, struck out three batters and walked one. He was credited with the decision. Wyatt Nelson, Christian Colmery, Carter Welch and Nate Rolka pitched in relief. The four pitched the final five innings, allowed six earned runs off eight hits, walked five batters and struck out four.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lesher drove in two runs for the Blue Hens through the first seven innings, with a home run in the top of the fifth and an RBI double in the top of the seventh.
The Hawks built up a 9-2 lead through the first seven innings, but the Blue Hens didn't go down without a fight.
Josearmando Diaz got a rally started with a two run single in the top of the eighth, making it 9-4 Hawks.
After a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth, Lesher hit a two run home run, followed by a Loynd three run home run in the top of the ninth. However, the rally was too little, too late.
