Ice Hockey Inks Six on National Signing Day

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Ice Hockey Head Coach Allison Coomey has announced the addition of six signees as part of National Signing Day. The six student-athletes will join the Fightin' Blue Hens ahead of the 2026-27 season as members of the Delaware Class of 2030.
The six newcomers include four forwards, a defenseman and a goaltender. The group includes two Canadians, one from Texas and three from Illinois who were all teammates on the Chicago Mission hockey club.

Whitby Jr. Wolves
Bio: Played four years of varsity hockey at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School… Helped lead Holy Cross to a OFSAA to a AA championship in 2024… Earned team Rookie of the Year honors in 2023 and Jr. Athlete of the Year in 2024… Played club hockey for the Whitby Jr. U22 Elite since 2024, serving as an assistant captain… Won a silver medal at the OWHA provincials with Durham West U18AA in 2023… Also a starter and captain on the rugby team and a starter on the women's lacrosse team, winning a bronze medal in the OWFL in 2023… Older sister, Emma, played rugby at Queen's University… In the classroom, was an honor roll student.

Bio: Played club hockey for the Chicago Mission since 2020, serving as a captain of the U14 team and an assistant captain of the U16 squad… Helped lead the Mission to three state championships and a second- and third-place finish at the USA National Championships… Attended the USA National Camp from 2023-25… Also a starter on the soccer team at Glenbrook North, winning a regional championship and earning all-conference honors in 2023 and all-sectional recognition in 2025… Has a second cousin, Ryan Mezbower, who played men's lacrosse at Delaware (2001-05) and was later a member of the Blue Hens' coaching staff… Grandfather, Art Link, ran cross country and track at Michigan State.

Bio: Played club hockey for the Chicago Mission since 2021, serving as a captain during the 2024-25 season… Helped lead the Mission to three state championships and a second- and third-place finish at the USA National Championships… Recorded 53 points in 51 games played 2024-25 season and had 140 points over the 2022-24 seasons… Selected for USA Hockey District Camp (2021-26) and USA Hockey National Camp (2023-25)… Also a member of the golf team at Prairie Ridge High School, qualifying for sectionals in 2024 and 2025… Older cousin, Jerry Kaminski, plays football at North Dakota… In the classroom, was an honor roll student.

Stevenson High School… Earned all-state honors in 2024 and 2025… Helped lead Stevenson to a Founders Cup Championship in 2024… Played club hockey for the Chicago Mission since 2023, serving as a captain during the 2024-25 season… Helped lead the Mission to two state championships and a second- and third-place finish at the USA National Championships…Named MVP at the PIP Labor Day Tournament… Won the 2024 Stoney Creek Gold Division Championship and the 2024 USA Canada Cup Championship… Played for Team Illinois in 2022-23, finishing runner-up in the state tournament… Also played flag football for Stevenson, serving as a team captain as a senior and winning a conference championship in 2025… Father, Eric, played ice hockey at the University of Illinois-Chicago and brother, Cole, played ice hockey at Lawrence University and Augsburg University… In the classroom, was a Gold Honor Roll student and a member of the National Honors Society.
