Women's Lacrosse Celebrates Senior Day with a Seahawk Win, 14-6

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team celebrated a successful senior day as they took down Wagner 14-6.

Erin Gormley, Kiki Grant, Emma Hoffman, Delaney McDaniel, Natalie Reed, Bryn Rochon, and Halen Saroney all were recognized for their immense contributions to the women's lacrosse program.

The Blue Hens record now elevates to 3-2 while Wagner will sink to 0-3.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Morgan Gore and Ella Rishko led the scoring charge, each netting four goals to pace the Blue Hens' offense.
Saroney contributed two goals, while Rochon, Jaclyn Marszal, Lulu Rishko, and McDaniel each added one goal.
Marszal dished out a team-high two assists, with Callie Drab, Gore, and McDaniel adding one assist apiece.
Delaware dominated the shot count, 33-11, including a 29-10 edge in shots on goal.
The Blue Hens won the ground ball battle by a +13 margin.
Delaware's defense forced Wagner into 31 turnovers.
The Hens converted three free-position goals on five attempts.
Goalkeeper Reed collected four saves and a ground ball, winning her the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Delaware set the tone early, outscoring Wagner 4-1 in the first quarter behind two quick goals from Ella Rishko. The Blue Hens carried a 6-2 lead into halftime.
A dominant third quarter saw Delaware extend its lead to 10-3, with Morgan Gore scoring twice to help put the game out of reach before closing out the 14-6 victory.

The team travels to UMBC for a 4 p.m. matchup on Wednesday.
