Women’s Lacrosse Rolls Past Campbell 15-11 Despite Lightning Delay

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Despite an hour-long lightning delay, University of Delaware women's lacrosse (8-5, 4-2 CAA) rolled past Campbell (3-10, 1-5 CAA), 15-9 Friday evening.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Delaware took 36 shots, putting 29 on cage.
- UD won the draw control margin 20-10.
- Ella Rishko tallied a game-high five points on four goals and one assist. She added a game-best seven draw controls to her line.
- Delaney McDaniel recorded four points on two goals and two assists.
- Halen Saroney notched a hat trick for the third time in her last four games. She also snagged three draw controls and caused two turnovers.
- Jaclyn Marszal registered three points with two goals and an assist.
- Both Morgan Gore and Riley Sturtevant scored twice.
- Erin Gormley picked up her second career assist in as many games.
- Steph Marszal (6-4) made 11 saves for the second time this season.
- Campbell scored the first goal of the game before the Blue & Gold ripped off five unanswered. The Camels responded with the final three scores of the opening frame to make it a 5-4 game after one.
- The home team took its only lead of the game after it scored the first two goals of the second stanza. UD quickly responded with two of its own for a 7-6 halftime lead.
- A 5-2 margin for the Hens caused a Campbell timeout right before the lightning delay with 2:12 remaining in the third frame.
- With the score remaining the same at the start of the final quarter, the teams scored one after the other up until the final buzzer with Delaware on top 15-11.
- The Blue & Gold have now won at least eight games in each of the last three seasons.
