Men’s Golf Wins First Tournament Title Since 2021 at Rutherford Intercollegiate

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The University of Delaware men's golf team recorded consecutive under-par rounds on Saturday and Sunday on its way to its first tournament title since the 2021-22 season at the Rutherford Intercollegiate, hosted by Penn State. The Blue Hens carded a three-round team score of 3-under par 849, the fifth-best 54-hole score in program history. Play was held at the par-71, 7,130-yard Penn State Blue Course.

The Blue Hens will compete for the 2025 CAA Championship next weekend. The three-day tournament will be held April 20-22 at The Union League Golf Club in Swainton, New Jersey.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaware's totaled 47 birdies over the three rounds, including 22 during Sunday's final round to clinch the win. The Blue Hens also had eagles by Iampongsai and Nerpin in the second round.
- Iampongsai recorded his best collegiate finish, finishing at 2-under par for the tournament. After carding an even-par 71 during the first round, he tied a career-best with a 3-under par 68 in the second round when he posted three birdies and an eagle.
- Homer registered his second-straight top-10 finish as he finished at even par for the tournament. He carded eight birdies over the 54 holes, including four on Sunday.
- Zubov recorded eight of his 14 birdies on Sunday to shoot 17 spots up the standings and finish in a tie for 14th.
- Nerpin turned in a 2-under par 69 during the second round and finished the tournament with eight birdies and an eagle.
- Areephun carded four of his eight birdies on Sunday to climb into the top 20.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The tournament win was Delaware's first since the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate during the 2021-22 season.
- Delaware's score of 563 over the second and third rounds is the seventh-best 36-hole score in program history.
