Delaware Men’s Basketball Set to Host Western Kentucky for First UDance Night in Program History

NEWARK, Del. – The Delaware men's basketball team returns to action Wednesday night inside the Bob Carpenter Center when the Blue Hens host Western Kentucky in Delaware's first UDance Night in program history.
Since 2007, UDance has been providing hope and financial support to families of children with cancer while building a powerful campus-wide tradition in the fight against childhood cancer. A student-run philanthropic organization at the University of Delaware, UDance has raised more than $21.9 million and supported over 20,000 families since its founding. Through on- and off-campus events and year-round outreach, UDance raises awareness and provides immediate, direct financial aid to families affected by pediatric cancer.
UDance is the University of Delaware's largest student-run philanthropy, highlighted by a 12-hour annual spring dance marathon that raises money and awareness for pediatric cancer. Benefiting The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, the event provides financial assistance to families and supports critical research efforts. Participants "adopt" a B+ Hero — a child currently battling cancer — fostering meaningful connections and a community united behind the fight.
Wednesday's game will shine a spotlight on that mission.
Fans who arrive early will have the opportunity to receive a special UDance t-shirt, created in conjunction with B+ Hero Emily from Club Gymnastics. The purple shirt features a hand-drawn design and serves as a symbol of the partnership between Delaware Athletics and UDance.
In addition, $1 of proceeds for every game ticket sold will benefit UDance, per student in attendance at the game, up to $1,000/1,000 students. A 50/50 raffle will also be held during the game with proceeds supporting UDance's efforts.
Members of the UDance Executive Committee and several B+ Heroes will be hosted in the Courtside Club during the game, providing the children and their families with a premium seating experience as part of the evening's celebration.
