SENIOR DAY
The Blue Hens will honor and recognize the following 12 seniors on their squad during pre-game and halftime ceremonies: Elyse Andrews, Kara Dattellas, Shannon Hawley, Devyn Heidelbaugh, Ali Karwoski, Casey Lyons, Emily Pollard, McKenzie Rafferty, Erin Wein, Abby Wheble and senior student athletic trainers Billy Kerr and Kyle Tinsman.
UD LAX BATTLES
The Blue Hens are dedicating the 2016 season to our loved ones who are fighting or have fought cancer. Saturday we honor the life and legacy of Maryann Diglio, grandmother of senior Kara Dattellas. Maryann was hardworking, strong-willed, independent, loving and family-oriented. If Maryann was with us today, she would remind the Blue Hens to cherish every moment of being a part of a family, to believe in yourselves and each other and to always fight the good fight. Saturday's honorary captain is Christine Dattellas, the Maryann's daughter and Kara's mother.
LAST TIME OUT
Jamie Schwartz scored a career-high six goals while Casey Lyons handed out a career-best six assists as the duo led the Blue Hens to a 14-7 victory over Villanova Wednesday night at Delaware Stadium. Delaware, which won its fourth consecutive game while improving to 6-1 on the season, also got two goals apiece from Kirsten Hale and Becky Gohsler, while four other Blue Hens contributed a goal apiece. Lyons and Schwartz connected for four UD goals, including the Blue Hens' first three of the second half. Blue Hen goalkeeper Taylor Carpentier made a season-high 12 saves in the UD cage, playing all 60 minutes and improving to 6-1 on the year.
