» Delaware will head to Williamsburg, Va. for a two-day meet at the Colonial Relays hosted by CAA foe William & Mary Friday, Apr. 1-Saturday, Apr. 2. This will be the first time since the 2019 outdoor season the Blue Hens competed in this meet.

» The last time the Blue Hens competed was at the three-day Raleigh Relays meet (Mar. 24-26). The Blue Hen trio of Megan Albamonti, Chioma Njoku and Susanna Weir shined in their respective events by setting new program records.

» After throwing the javelin four times, it was lucky number five for Albamonti, as she launched one for a personal best and a new school record mark of 50.62m (166' 1"), which was good enough for fourth place. Albamonti surpassed her 2021 throw of 49.60m (162'09"), a mark she achieved at the 2021 CAA Track & Field Championships. She was named CAA Field Athlete of the Week for her impressive performance on Tuesday.

» Weir closed out the Blue Hens day one of events in the 10,000m run, a race that she was competing in for the first time in her career. Weir, for the second time this track season, set a new school record time of 34:24.34 (27th place), eclipsing teammate Jessica Pidgeon's 2021 time of 35:08.81.

» Njoku set a new program and personal record of 55.17m, where she won her flight and finished 11th overall. She surpassed teammate Bethany Clement's 2021 mark of 54.63m.

» Delaware went back-to-back years competing and being crowned Women's champions at the historic Colonial Relays, last time being during the 2019 outdoor campaign. At the 2019 meet, it featured eight different performances that were ECAC qualifiers and a school record from the 4x1500 relay squad. In total, the Blue Hens had 24 top-10 finishers at the meet. Nine members of the current 2022 squad will the use the good fortune of competing at the Walter J. Zable Stadium at at Cary Field to their advantage heading into the two-day meet.

» Head coach Ryan Waite will be taking 41 Blue Hen athletes that will be slated to compete in 21 events.
