NEW YORK – The University of Delaware track & field team is ready to get back on the track to open the 2023 calendar year and the stage is set in the Big Apple. Head coach Kenyetta Iyevbele and the Blue Hens will travel to New York and compete at the TCNJ Lions Indoor Invitational, hosted by The College of New Jersey inside the Armory Track & Field Center. 31 athletes will headline 14 events for the Blue & Gold.

What You Need to Know:

Competing for the Blue Hens in the sprints events are: Melady Brown (400m, 4x400 relay), Makiyah Cannon-Price (60m hurdles), Shylehn Ebuenga-Smith (60m, 200m), Taylor Johnson (60m, 200m, 4x400 relay), Jayde McDermid (60m hurdles), Kamylin Padgham (40m, 200m), Marie-Frederique Poulin (400m, 4x400 relay), Ava Scheibe (60m, 200m) and Carly Schmidt (400, 4x400 relay)
Biola Adeleye and Jahnia Hodge will headline the Blue Hens in the triple jump while Bridget Joyce, Bridget O'Mara and Sarah Hershberger will compete in the pole vault event
Destiny DeBlock (60m hurdles), Mayson Light (60m hurdles) and Samanatha Uy (400m) will all be competing in the high jump event.
Looking to use their momentum from their strong cross country season, Hannah Lindgren, Grace Chesley, Anna Cleary, Danielle Eshelman and Alicia Lenoir will be racing in the 3000m while Carolyn Coletti, Marissa Dailey, Jessica Stratton and Lindsey Volkman will be competing in the mile event. Hannah Smalley will be the lone Blue Hen racing in the 800m
Representing the Blue Hen throws will be Emily Eckard and Mackenzie Stephens in the weight throw while Kosie Nkwonta will look to shine in the shot put.
