NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team battled it out in a 0-0 draw against the Seahawks on Saturday.

The Blue Hens now have nine conference points with one CAA game remaining.

COACHES QUOTE

"We're so proud of the boys today. We weren't as sharp as we have been and were second best for large periods of the game with a very good UNCW team," head coach Tommy McMenemy said. "With that said, we worked, organized and defended extremely well and ended up creating the best three chances of the game in the last 15-20 minutes. Now we'll put conference thoughts to the side as we prepare for a tough home game on Tuesday night."

"Obviously the team was hoping to get a win today but I can't express how proud I am of everyone for going on the road against a tough opponent and getting a result in conference," senior defender Liam Fuller said. "The team played their hearts out and everyone stepped up when they were called on. That was a tough game to be a part of but our team shape, communication and togetherness was great. We are working hard every week to show everyone what a Delaware performance looks and feels like."

HOW IT HAPPENED

UNCW recorded 10 shots in the first half and had a time of possession of 56%.
Vik held his own and the Hens' defense minimized the opportunity for the Seahawks to get shots on goal.
Delaware entered the second half with vengeance. The Blue Hens took over with nine shots and had a time of possession of 57%.
The Hens and Seahawks both put up a fight and earned a conference point each.
