Baseball Suffers Loss Against Towson

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware baseball (24-26, 13-12 CAA) dropped a contest to Towson (17-34, 5-20) by a score of 7-2 on Friday, allowing seven unanswered runs after the second inning.
Bryce Greenly worked out of trouble in the first inning, getting out of a jam with two runners in scoring position.
Delaware got on the board in the second, as Jake Dunion blasted his third home run of the season off the center field batter's eye to put the Hens up 2-0.
Towson chipped away, hitting a solo home run against Greenly, but the starter limited the damage to just that run, tossing six innings of one-run ball, fanning five.
Towson attacked against the Delaware bullpen, scoring six runs in the final three frames to take the lead for good. Delaware went quietly in the ninth, falling 7-2.
Joey Loynd and Tyler Leach each had multiple hits in the effort.
The second game will be on Saturday, which is senior night for the Hens.
