No. 14 Men's Lacrosse Heads Up I-95 for a Battle with Penn

NEWARK, Del. – The 14th-ranked University of Delaware men's lacrosse team looks to make it three straight wins to start the year for the third season in a row as UD heads north up I-95 to face the Penn Quakers on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 3:30 p.m.

ABOUT THE HENS
- Delaware enters Saturday's contest with a 2-0 record and is the No. 14-ranked team in all three major polls.
- The Hens come off an impressive 17-6 win over Stony Brook in which seven different players tallied a goal and three finished with hat tricks.
- Through his first two games, Mike Robinson leads the nation in goals per game with 6.50 while JP Ward is 11th in assists per game with 3.50.
- Freshman John McCurry was named this week's CAA Rookie of the Week after he scored his first-career goal and finished with a hat trick against Stony Brook on Saturday.
- OJ Morris has tallied 10 ground balls and is 25-for-36 at the X for a .694 FO%.
- In goal, senior Kevin Ellington is 2-0 with a GAA of 6.28 and 23 saves with a .657 save percentage.
- The Hens are third in the nation in scoring defense, allowing an average of 6.00 gpg and 10th in scoring offense, scoring 31 goals and averaging 15.5 per game.
- UD is tied for third in the nation with a +9.50 scoring margin.
ABOUT THE QUAKERS
- The Quakers enter Saturday's contest at 1-1 after opening the year with a 12-9 loss to Georgetown on Feb. 17 followed by an 11-7 win over UAlbany on Feb. 20.
- Penn received votes in all three of the latest major polls.
- Penn is led by Tynan Walsh and Ben Smith, each with five goals on the year.
- Ethan Costanzo is 15-for-38 at the X with a FO% of .395 and nine ground balls on the season.
- The Quakers have totaled 20 goals and allowed 19.
- Emmet Carroll is 1-1 in goal for the Quakers with a 9.50 GAA and 28 saves for a .596 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Quakers lead the all-time series 20-9, but Delaware has won the last three meetings with the last one being a 12-10 Blue Hens victory on April 28, 2001.
- Delaware is 4-12 all-time on the road against Penn with the last road victory coming on May 8, 1999.
