Baseball Earns Walk-Off Extra Innings Win Against Penn

With the win, the Blue Hens overall record is 7-8.
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- All nine Blue Hen starters recorded a hit today. Andrew Amato (3-for-5, 2 RBIs, 3B), Rory Finn (3-for-5, HR, 2B, 5 RBI) and LT Cockrill (3-for-6, HR, 2 RBIs) each had three hits
- Pitching for the Blue Hens was Elias Conway, Justin Needles, Ethan Shaub, Jonah Richardson, Ben Moyzan and Andrew Callaway. The six pitchers combined for 12 innings, allowed 12 earned runs, and struck out 10 batters. Callaway was awarded the win and is now 2-1.
- Twelve of the Blue Hens 13 runs came in the fourth inning and on.
- In the fourth, down 7-1, Cockrill hit a solo home run, and Finn drove in two off a double to cut the Quaker lead to 7-4.
- In the sixth, down 8-4, Finn hit a two-run home run to make it 8-6.
- The Blue Hens broke the game open in the seventh inning. The rally started with a two-run single from Amato and an RBI single from Finn. Evan Bouldin hit the go-ahead home run to give the Blue Hens a 12-11 lead.
- After Penn tied the game at 12-12 in the ninth, Christian Colmery scored the game winning run off a wild pitch.
UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will stay in Newark for a three game series against Sienna from March 14-16 at Bob Hannah Stadium.
