Women's Lacrosse Struggles Against Strong Offensive Display from Hofstra

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team dropped a Sunday afternoon matinee to Hostra, 19-11. The Hens are now 9-5 and sit at 2-4 in the CAA, while to Pride move to 9-5, 6-0 CAA.

The Hens travel to North Carolina to play Elon on Saturday at noon.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Lizzie Hsu recorded a hat trick and an assist.
- Riley Gillin scored five points, three of them off assists.
- Danielle Livornese, Jaclyn Marszal, Morgan Gore, Keira Grant, Callie Drab, and Delaney McDaniel all notched a goal.
- McDaniel finished with five points, four of them off assists.
- Sophia Foohey saved 10 shots on 21 attempts.
- The first quarter saw the Pride and Hens combine for 13 goals, with the Pride finding the back eight times.
- Delaware jumped out with two-unanswered goals to cut the Pride's lead to one. Hofstra then scored the next four goals to lead at halftime, 12-7.
- The Hens and Pride both turned to defense in the third quarter recording several stops on each side. The visitors squeaked out one more goal than the home team to lead 15-9.
- Hofstra stayed strong defensively while breaking away from UD to seal the game.
The Hens travel to North Carolina to play Elon on Saturday at noon.
